What does Descriva do?
Descriva writes product descriptions, SEO titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, product tags, and URL handles for your Shopify store. You pick a tone and length, review the draft, and publish in one click.
Which Shopify plans does it work with?
Descriva works with Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Plus stores. It embeds inside Shopify admin via App Bridge — no separate login, no separate dashboard.
Does it edit my products automatically?
No. Every generation is a draft. You review the copy, the SEO score, and a Google search preview before anything is written back to your store. Nothing publishes without a click.
What languages does it support?
English at launch. We add languages based on actual merchant demand rather than padding the listing — let us know what you need at support@descriva.app.
How does the brand voice feature work?
On Pro and Scale you set up a brand voice profile once: paste a few descriptions you like, mark the tone, list any words you avoid. Every future generation uses that profile so descriptions sound like the rest of your store. You can edit the profile any time.
Does it work with my existing product images?
Yes. On Pro and Scale, Descriva can analyse your product photos and reference what they actually show in the description and alt text — colour, material, packaging, format. Image analysis is included up to the per-plan monthly limit.
What happens to my data?
Your shop info, product fields, and generation history are stored encrypted in our database. Product fields are sent to OpenAI to generate copy, with the store: false flag set so OpenAI does not retain inputs or outputs and does not use them for model training. Your data is deleted within 30 days of uninstall. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
Does Descriva use AI?
Yes — OpenAI for the language and image-analysis models. We don't hide that. The interesting work is in the prompts, the brand voice profile, the quality scoring, and the review flow that sits in front of the model.
Can I undo a generation?
Yes. Every generation is saved to a 90-day history on Pro and Scale plans. Click any past generation and restore it with one click. The Free and Starter plans publish without history; if you need restore, upgrade to Pro.
What counts as one optimisation?
One optimisation is one generation request for one product — whether that's a description, an SEO bundle (title + meta + handle + tags), or an image alt-text run. Re-generating the same product to compare tones counts as separate optimisations. Re-generations from history (Pro/Scale) are free.
What's included in bulk jobs?
Scale plan bulk jobs let you select up to 100 products at a time and run generation in the background. You can run up to 3 jobs per day. Each product in a bulk job counts as one optimisation against your monthly limit. Drafts are queued for review the same way single generations are — nothing publishes without you approving it.
How do I cancel?
Open your Shopify admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels → Descriva → Uninstall. Cancellation is immediate; we don't bill again. Your settings stay in place for 30 days in case you re-install (Shopify's standard compliance window), then are deleted.
