Screen recorder

Record your screen and microphone right in the browser. Nothing uploads — your recording stays on your device until you download it as a WebM file.

Record your screen

Click Start recording. Your browser will ask what to share — a tab, window, or your full screen. The recording stays on your device and downloads as WebM when you're done.

How it works

  1. Click Start recording. Your browser asks what to share: a browser tab, an application window, or your entire screen.
  2. Pick your source. If you want voice-over, leave the microphone toggle on — we'll mix the audio tracks together.
  3. Recording begins. Switch to the window you want to capture and do your thing.
  4. Click Stop when finished, or use your browser's built-in stop-sharing button.
  5. Preview the recording, then download it. The file lives on your device from that point on.

Privacy

This tool runs entirely in your browser using the getDisplayMedia and MediaRecorder Web APIs. Recordings are never sent to any server — they exist in memory until you download them, then in the download folder you choose. Closing the tab before you download discards the recording.

About WebM

Recordings are saved as WebM using the VP9 or VP8 codec — the format every modern browser records natively. WebM plays in Chrome, Firefox, Safari 16+, Slack, Notion, Discord, Google Drive, and most video platforms. If you need MP4 for a tool that doesn't accept WebM, any free video converter (or ffmpeg one-liner) will re-wrap it without quality loss.
